Easy Money In Skyrim

Looking to make some good coin reasonably early in Skyrim? Don't feel like stealing? Here's a fairly straightforward method that's good returns without being fun-ruining broken.
  1. Find some Dwemer ruins. Markarth excavation site is easy to get to as you can hire a wagon from Whiterun, though there are others, notably in the region between Windhelm and Riften.
  2. Collect as much Bent Scrap Metal, Small Metal Plates, and Large Metal Plates as possible. If you have the carrying capacity then grab struts and solid blocks as well. Plates are the best value at 3 bars for a weight of 2 (3:2) where a solid block gets you 5 bars for a weight of 25 (1:5). Struts weigh less than blocks, but are also 1:5. Ignore plain "Scrap Metal." It's useless, even though it doesn't sound that way. Only bent scrap metal can be smelted.
  3. Smelt that crap. You can easily wind up with several hundred ingots, and 2 lbs. of plate metal becomes 3 lbs. of ingots, so you may want to do the smelting near a safe storage place.
  4. Get your Smithing up to 30 and put a perk into Dwarven Smithing.
  5. Buy iron ingots and make Dwarven Bows. The pattern costs 1 Iron and 2 Dwemer ingots, and sells to a vendor for ~100g. You paid nothing but time for the Dwemer metal and Iron ingots will only cost ~14g each. Whiterun has four vendors who will buy weapons: two at the Blacksmith (1100g each), the General Goods vendor (600g), and the Skyforge smith (1100g).

    Chopping wood
Locate a woodcutters axe (buy it from a store, or find one lying around) then look for a woodcutting block. There's one in Riverwood by the mill if you're struggling. Activate the block and your character will start chopping.
Each 'chop' earns you 2 pieces of firewood, which you can then sell for 5 gold each. This is a decent way of making money, as 18 blocks of wood - that's three chopping sessions - will get you 90 gold in total. It's dull, but hey, that's work for you.
    Cooking
All that food you find lying around isn't just for eating. If you find a cooking pot and activate it, you'll see a large list of pre-made recipes. By combining ingredients you can cook meat and create entire meals, then sell them on to general goods merchants (or keep for eating yourself).
    Investing
If you get the Investor perk from the speechcraft skill tree, you'll be able to invest in certain stores and take a cut of their profits whenever you visit them.
    Mining
If you're after something a little more lucrative, try mining. There are nine types of ore in Skyrim - gold, iron, ebony, silver, corundum, malachite, moonstone, orichalcum and quicksilver. Of these, ebony is the most expensive.
First, get a pickaxe. If you've been to the Throat of the World, travel there and climb to the peak and you can get a special tool called the 'Notched Pickaxe' that raises your smithing stats. Then it's simply a matter of finding an ore vein and activating it. As you mine, you'll get a mixture of ore and precious gems.
To mine faster, dual-wield pickaxes like weapons and 'attack' the ore veins rather than activating them. When a vein depletes, move on to the next one. It won't regenerate for several weeks.
When you have a pile of ore, look for a smelter. There's usually one outside mines, or you can find one directly to the right of the main fast travel point in Whiterun. The smelter lets you turn ore into ingots, which sell for more, and can be used to craft and upgrade armour and weapons. Blacksmiths will buy ore from you, and sometimes the foreman of the mine.
Here are some locations that are perfect for mining...
    • Ebony - Gloombound Mine (16 veins), Throat of the World (2 veins), Redbelly Mine (3 veins)
    • Corundum - Darkwater Crossing (5 veins), Blackreach (3 veins), Snowpoint Beacon (2 veins)
    • Iron - Embershard Mine (8 veins), Halted Stream Camp (16 veins), Stonehills (4 veins)
    • Quicksilver - The Tower Stone (2 veins)
    • Moonstone - Mzulft (7 veins), Soljund's Sinkhole (5 veins)
    • Orichalcum - Bilegulch Mine (9 veins), Dushnikh Mine (9 veins), Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon (3 veins)
    • Gold - Kolskeggr Mine (24 veins)
    • Malachite - Steamscorch Mine (7 veins)

  1. There's an easier way.
At the base of solitude there is solitude sawmill.

Go to the wood chopping block and chop wood for 30 min or so( you will need a wood cutters axe) Then there will be a man named Hjorunn hanging out around a fence near the chopping block.

You can make an easy 2000 gold by just chopping wood. :D

  2. then try doing 'banish' enchantments on something. Enchanted iron dagger can be sold for around 900g.

  3. (low levels 1-10+)Go to River run and as u fast travel or as u enter for the starting quest go left, on the bridge, and go forth until u see wood that u can chop.(u can get a wood cutters axe from camps or venders). Start chopping wood until time deseried and then after your done turn around and go up the saw mill. Put a log on the chopper, Turn the lever and then wait 1 hour. A man will apear i belive its ron and sell all wood. (10 gold per 2 chopped wood). There you go i found a easy way to chop at low lvls

  4. Fast travel to Winterhold and head Southwest to the Sightless Pit (DO NOT ENTER THE PIT). Then climb up the mountain a bit and you will find an alter with a skeleton on it. Take the shield in front of it and the skeleton will come alive with two others behind it. kill them and search the skeleton that was on the alter. he will have a book on him but don't take it. instead exit and re-loot him there will be two books, exit and re-loot and there will be 3 books and so on can be sold at 19 gold for low levels. repeat until you have as many as you can carry and go and sell them at a store and there you go easy money.

  5. I got 12000 gold in one and a half hours by doing some of the dark brotherhood quests. To join the dark brotherhood you have to go to windhelm and talk to the kid who is doing the black sacrament. Then he will ask you to go kill a lady at an orphanage in Riften. When you kill her her assistant will freak out but won't tell the guards or anything and the children will thank you. Then go back to the kid and he'll give you a family heirloom as a reward. Then go to Markarth and rent a room in the Silver Blood Inn (on your left when you first enter the city). Go to sleep and in the middle of the night a lady will kidnap you and after a long conversation will tell you to kill one of the three captives in the room. It doesn't matter who you kill. She will give you an invitation to the dark brotherhood and give you the password when you go to the hideout. The password is,"Silence my brother," and the hideout will be added on your map when she tells you about it. It's under a bridge near Falkreath. Then you can start doing assasinations for them which gets you about 400 gold for each kill. Then there are primary quests where you'll get a LOT more gold for a certain kill. They also give you some useful equipment when you first join the group.

  6. You can go to the blacksmith in Riverrun and near the workshop table will be a basket with some steel and iron ingots. At night go there and crouch. If the eye is closed then take them unless the eye opens again. If the eye is open and you try to take them, the guards will attack you. *Note that the ingots comeback every day and it is only in this blacksmith that he'll make ingots everyday. If you kill him the ingots won't come back anymore

  9. Thieve's Guild quests take about ten minutes each (including loading screens) and you get about 200 gold for each one. After a few quests you get a special quest. After you finish this you get 250 gold for each quest (they get no harder). Do a few more then a special quest and you get 300 gold per quest.

Each ordinary quest involves going into someone's house and taking an item or three, or pickpocketing someone. You can choose what type you do. Get the quests from Vex or Delvin, they both give different types.

  15. found a trick
jus get lost of iron dagger the encant it to banish undead or sumting an sell 1 from 100 gold to 1200 gold

  16. Regarding smithing that somebody mentioned before, if you do smithing solely by buying iron ingots from several different vendors, with lowish speech, and some items that lower prices (I used Cicero's Clothes), you can get from 30 to 100 smithing in ~45 minutes (but it costs ~8000 gold) by making ~400 iron daggers in bulk loads (around 80-95 per load) and selling them back. It is expensive but its very fast, so if you want dragon armor at a very low level and have the money (I took the 20,000 gold from the DBH quests), its a good way to go.

  17. for all you heavy armour wearers, dragon anrmour is not that best...despite it being the last one you can make, daedric is better, and another quik way to make cash, got the shrine of mehrunes dagon, kill em all and loot it, theres often expensive weapons and armour and a few ebony and gold ingots, also make deadric armour an sell it. Some pieces sell for £1000 plus

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Only problem with that is you need deadric hearts there's only 20 hearts in the whole game....so flaw n that idea....deadric armour and weapons rock I'm level 48 and I swear by them!!better then dragon harder to come by!plus they look cool!!

      Delete
    2. You can buy multiple daedra hearts from venders. I have 76 hearts in, my inventory.

      Delete
  18. A really easy and fast way to get smithing to lvl 100 is to buy only iron ingots and leather strips and make iron daggers. I found that no matter what type of armor or weapon or whatever you make of any kind it all increases your lvl progress the same. And iron is the cheapest of them all.

    ReplyDelete
  19. also you only need one ingot and one leather strip per dagger

    ReplyDelete
  20. Another easy way to get money is to sell dragon scales or bones which one your not using it dosen't matter because they sell for heaps

    ReplyDelete

  26. i like to make iron daggers, that helps out my smithing, then i go and enchant them with an undead enchantment, that helps on my smithing, then i sell them to whoever i can one at time which gets me a good amount of money and it upgrades your speach, so overtime you will get better prices when buying and selling

    ReplyDelete
  27. i would make some dragonbone chestplates, if you have enchanted rings, bracers, etc. you can make some great armor, sell each dragonbone piece for around 3,000 each average, or use potions and enchantments to bring that shit up to over 4,500 each, these dragonbone plates accumulate into large wealth, thats how i do it.

  28. To The person that said there is no Markarth Excavation site, It is in Understone Keep, turn Left, Then Talk to Calcelmo for the key by killing a spider named Nimhe. But it is inside the City, no outside like the mine

    ReplyDelete
  29. You left bollucked munters

    ReplyDelete
  30. Only kidding Just do the Dark brotherhood quests and the wealth you accumulate is over 30-40k, thats if you dont use the money to kit out the "spoilers!" hideout, cause you get a "Spoilers!" and you sell to a guy called "Spoilers!" Who gives you a MENTAL amount of money than you can get 100 smithing through "Spoilers!" and then make your self a set of dazzling "Spoilers!" armor, But I prefer daedric cheaper and better in every sense, also looks a tonne better, dragon armor looks like Isaac Clarkes armor if its been bathed in shit and then decorated with bog grime

  33. Find a gold mine and maine all the gold then make them nto ingots which then you can make into gold necklaces which sell for a reasonable price. I got lots of money. Or you could get your smithing skill to 90 and find an ebony mine and make daedric armor and upgrade (I have some armor worth 10,000-it's a daedric artifact though)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Do the stormcloak quests. They're pretty easy and you can get a ton of gold by looting dead imperials. Another easy way is to make iron daggers, then enchant them. + easy 100 Smithing and Enchanting!

  38. Easiest way is to join the dark brotherhood, as soon as you get far enough you get paid 20,000 straight up, plus what you made along the way

  42. I went to the excavation site in Understone Keep inside of Markarth and picked up all the dwarven metals on the ground and mined the iron veins that were also in the site. I then went to the smelter in Markarth and smelted those badboys to make dwarven metal ignot and iron ignots.I used those as well as the leatherstraps that i puchased earlier to make as many dwarven bows as I could and then used the remaining iron and leather straps to make iron daggers. I sold the bows for a reasonable amount of money and all it cost me was time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Another one is, if you have ebony arrows, go to outside the castle dour in solitude. Outside are some guards training with bows and arrows. If you are a good theif, you could pickpocket them and still be detected. Take their arrows and replace them with one ebony arrow. Bingo! 7 gold an arrow!

    ReplyDelete
  44. get the transmute ore book from halted stream camp and use the spell to turn iron ore into gold ore. smelt gold ore into ingots and sell them. given the low value of iron ore the profits are good. but will take time and patience if you have not invested in magicka or magic robes

  45. just walk in the southern area of windhelm there are giants who drop max 250gp and they have also a chest with gold and other stuff

    ReplyDelete
  46. also if you want to sell items at better prices then you should to this for level 100 speach which also gets ur normal level up;
go to riften find the black-briar meadery and speak to ungrien and ask him about maven black briar, he will tell you a load of lies then bribe him if you are under level 25 speach but if you are over persuade him then dont come off just keep going and you can ask him about her over and over to level up speach really easily!!!

There's an enchanters table in the winterhold colledge in the archmages chambers u can use any time!!

  50. Actually a faster way to chop the wood is has Uthgred the Unbroken or any other follower for that matter chop it for you. Give them the wood cutters axe and tell direct them to do something for you they chop wood wood and it saves you going through the little cinematic every time and you can tell them to chop again as soon as they finish

    ReplyDelete
  51. Do Animal Extermination quests from Aela. They are infinitely repeatable and they make about 300 gold per completion.

    ReplyDelete
  52. There are actually 5 stores that buy weapons, the 2 blacksmith places, the general store, the skysteel forge and the hunting place across the street from the blacksmiths. and if at all possible it's best to enchant the bows before you sell. Dont forget to use companion unlimited carry glitch, order your follower to pick something up bypasses their load limit, I went into the markarth dwelmer ruins and smelted it for 360 bars exactly. ALSO, its best to "Sharpen" them, better value for 1 ingot.

So do what he says, use companion 2 carry more, SHARPEN then enchant, then sell to any of the 5 vendors.
