‘Star Wars: Battlefront 3′ Being Developed By Spark Unlimited

News has begun to emerge regarding ‘Star Wars: Battlefront 3,’ and it seems the elusive title may be in development at Spark Unlimited, most recently responsible for ‘Legendary.’

Ever since this console generation began, gamers have been clamoring for Star Wars: Battlefront 3. While the title has switched development studios over the years, new details are coming out suggesting that the elusive shooter is now in the hands of Spark Unlimited.

There is no evidence that directly confirms Star Wars: Battlefront 3 is still in development, but the pieces are there. To start, LucasArts has been hiring for a number of projects. At the same time, Spark Unlimited’s website says, “We are in production on an unannounced high-profile, popular game sequel for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC release.” Being that Spark Unlimited is a developer with plenty of experience in the shooter genre, many began to ask the developer whether or not they are developing the Battlefront sequel.

This is where things get interesting. The developer is responding to twitter queries regardingBattlefront 3 development with, “you’ll have ask Lucas Arts about its franchises, we’re just a developer, not publisher.” The studio is not confirming or denying that it is developing the title, and its response sounds almost like the “we do not comment on rumors or speculation” response publishers have given in the past to avoid prematurely announcing something.

Game Informer suggests the unannounced sequel Spark Unlimited refers to could be a Call of Duty game. The developer has dabbled in the franchise before, with Call of Duty: Finest Hour. The studio’s last game was the very rough-around-the-edges Legendary, a title that had a lot of potential but ultimately fell flat. Hopefully, with more funds backing them (and the most coveted licence in gaming), Spark Unlimited will be able to make a more competent title.

In any case, I just really want Battlefront 3 to find a developer. Jumping from different studios can’t be good for the game’s development, and after all these years Battlefront fans deserve a title that lives up to the past games.

What do you want to see in Star Wars: Battlefront 3? Who would you most like to develop
